User`s Legal Age

You must be 18 years old or older to use Web Site.

User Information

When you use the Web Site, you for some services you may be asked to provide certain information including but not limited to names, email addresses, physical addresses, phone numbers, educational history, employment history, criminal background, and other personal information. You understand and agree that SJC may disclose information about you if SJC has a good faith belief that SJC is required to do so by law or legal process, to respond to claims, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of SJC or others.

Security Policy

SJC takes reasonable precautions to protect user information which is collected or maintained by SJC against loss, unauthorized access, illegal use, and/or improper disclosure. Transmissions between you and the Web Site may be protected using industry-standard cryptographic technology such as Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). User information collected from you is stored in a protected location. The Florida Public Records Act applies to public records, including electronic records.

To better serve you, the Web Site occasionally uses "Cookies" to provide you with certain features and services. By providing your mobile phone number to St. Johns County, you are agreeing to be contacted by on behalf of the St. Johns County or its agents, representatives via text (SMS) messages to your mobile phone and other wireless device, and the use of an automatic telephone dialing system, artificial voice, and prerecorded messages.

You may opt-out of receiving text (SMS) message from St. Johns County or its agents, representatives at any time by replying with the word SJCPSTOP from the mobile device receiving the messages.

Standard message and data rates from your wireless carrier may apply. When you opt-in to receive text (SMS) message, you are responsible for any carrier fees such as data plan charges, text messaging charges, tolls, out-of-area roaming, and other charges. Check with your wireless carrier for details on receiving text (SMS) message. Note that text (SMS) communications from St. Johns County may not be available through all wireless carriers.

Your use of the text (SMS) messaging service is governed by St. Johns Privacy Policy. St. Johns County will not ask you for, nor should you provide, personally identifiable information, passwords, or any other confidential or sensitive information in text (SMS) message.

Please be advised that Florida has a very broad public records law. As a result, any written communication created or received by St. Johns County is subject to disclose to the public and the media, upon request, unless otherwise exempt.

General Disclaimer

In no event shall SJC, its employees, officers, authorized agents and/or representatives, or any third parties mentioned on the web site(s) be liable for any damages or claims of any sort or kind (including, without limitation, incidental and consequential damages, lost profits, damages resulting from lost data or business interruption), unless specifically permitted by State or Federal law, and then only to the extent of such law. Moreover, as a condition for you using SJC web site(s) and associated services, SJC, its employees, officers, authorized agents and/or representatives, or any third parties mentioned on the web site(s) shall not be liable for any damages or claims (in an administrative context, or in law or equity) based on tort, contract, warranty, or other legal theory, and regardless of whether SJC is advised of the possibility of such damages.

Severability

If any word, phrase, sentence, part, section, subsection, or other portion of this User Agreement, or any application thereof, to any person or circumstance is declared void, unconstitutional, or invalid for any reason, then such word, phrase, sentence, part, section, subsection, or other portion, or the proscribed application thereof, shall be severable, and the remaining portions of this User Agreement, and all applications thereof, not having been declared void, unconstitutional, or invalid, shall remain in full force, and effect.

Governing Law/Venue

This User Agreement shall be construed according to the laws of the State of Florida. Venue for any legal action arising under this User Agreement shall be in St. Johns County, Florida.

Termination of Use

SJC reserves the right to terminate (immediately and without recourse--legal or administrative) the use of any User under this User Agreement for any use or purpose that SJC determines, detects, or believes (in its sole discretion) is improper, illegal (under local, State, and/or Federal law), unauthorized, or violative of another User Agreement and/or Contract of any kind, or sort whatsoever.
